This has been the busiest month of the year for me. Last week I had a reception for my first solo show (a HUGE thank you to everyone who came out). Merch came in for the band I manage- Dark Before Dawn. I also went to Aftershock festival and had the opportunity to see, meet and actually hang out with some of my all time favorite bands. And now I’m gearing up for my second solo show coming up a couple weeks in October. Let the games begin!
Here’s what I’m working on this month -
- A holiday card commission featuring some cool plants and animals
- An illustration for a super cool gallery show in November that’s really close to my heart
- A sketch for a ships in a bottle repeat pattern
I hope September is treating everyone nicely!
What a better theme for September than back to school, now that none of the QDC members are in school! This month, we’re asking for an illustration inspired by your favorite subject in grade school.
Some camping spots imagined as embroidered patches. I might make these into stickers if anyone is interested?
I’m really excited because I’m going to learn embroidery from my amazing friend anticipatricia ! These are a littttle complicated/detailed, but they’re the inspiration for what I’m going to try to create by hand.
For the patches theme! Would anyone be interested in seeing these as stickers?
Alley Cat Patch, 2014. Linocut on fabric, 5x7”
Vickie and I are getting subconscious messages from each other or something, because I made a cat patch as well. Mine is much less regal. I’ve been referring to this design as “Bad Pussy,” but my mom reads this blog, so…Alley Cat.
